Disk Brakes

Postby jimmy-d » Mon Mar 16, 2020 10:51 am

Hi all, after some information. I have a front crossmember from a 1966 HA Vauxhall Viva that I am considering fitting to a Morris Minor ute chassis. I am located in Melbourne Australia and I believe that this model Viva came with the option of disk brakes but I have not found any here. So,firstly,I am wanting confirmation that they were available with disks and secondly,if so,does anyone have a serviceable set that they would be prepared to post to Aus at a "reasonable" price. Any other help such as suggestions of another option for discs to suit the crossmember are welcome and would be appreciated. Regards Pete
how can you work to a budget when you own a morris minor?

Yes, discs were available (SL 90), plus brakes from a vauxhall magnum, firenza etc can be fitted too. However, they are quite (very really) scarce even here in the UK. You may be better off sourcing an MGB front clip and using that - great spares availability and cheap.
