Old electrics confusion

Postby JohnandJo2005 » Sat Oct 05, 2019 11:45 am

I’ve fitted a bull motif wiring loom suitable for an alternator conversion to my 1956 SERIES 2 and like a lot of cars of its age it’s had the conversion done to an alternator and obviously changed to negative earth unfortunately it’s suffered from various electrical “modifications” over the years and I’ve had to virtually start over with the rewiring. Is there a wiring diagram that I can download showing the circuits that are fused and the fuse ratings? My car is fitted with the pull starter switch which is fine and I’ve pretty well sorted out the ignition switch, lighting switch, wiper switch, fuel pump wiring and the ignition but I’m now totally confused with the fuse box particularly after looking at probably half a dozen different wiring diagrams for different aged cars. Also some where along the line it’s been fitted with a Lucas 6RA relay in the old rats nest of wiring which I can’t trace at all? I’d appreciate any help or guidance

If you go to the home page and look down the links on the left hand side there is a couple of workshop manual down loads, they should include original wiring diagrams.
There is also this

but not sure if the attachment is still working :(
