5 speed box.

Post by Jonio »

I’m getting my car on Wednesday, and it has a 5 speed gearbox. I’m surprised at this, and hope to find out more about this conversion. Cruises along nicely at 50 mph. Any info on this please. Thanks.

When you get it make sure you ask the last owner what they know about it. A few have them on here so there should be plenty of advice or tips about that and anything else. I'm not really jealous... ;)

You have a choice, either start a Project/Showroom page just for your car or post in the different sections. Either way you'll always find it when you need to check up again.

Thank you, there’s a folder of receipts with the car, so I’ll enjoy digging thro them.

Lucky you! The most common one fitted is the Ford Type 9, while earlier conversions included a RWD Toyota Corolla gearbox - now highly prized.
