poly bushes

Post by dave lambert-gorwyn »

Hi,my name is dave and I am helping my son to restore a 71 pick up (some good bits, some not so good, some beyond description), anyway we were fitting new poly bushes through out but I am hesitating to fit them on the tie bars as they don't seem to have any give, any views welcome

Hi there and welcome :)
Usually you fit a combination of polly bush and rubber to the tie bars, I can never remember which way round but I think it's rubber on the back side to give a bit of give under braking. Hopefully someone will be along to confirm. Make sure you give everything a smear of silicon lube on assembly as polly bushes do tend to creak and groan sometimes.

We'd love to see some pics of your project please.
