Self cancelling indicators

Postby jonseddon » Mon May 06, 2019 12:15 pm

Can’t turn the bolt in the pictures that you use to adjust the self cancelling action.

Using a 5.5mm spanner, which starts to slip. Tried to use (gently) a pipe wrench, but bothered about severing the bolt.

I’m trying the head, not the nut it screws into.

Any ideas? Is there a square ring that might fit.

Sprayed some release agent on and left it as is.

There is always heat and a few careful taps.

If that fails, weld something to it to get it out and replace.

In worst case it snaps and you need a remover, or drill it out.

I hope I'm not telling you how to suck eggs...

You must slacken off the nut against the column before you attempt to adjust the bolt.

Yup, didn’t know that, but found the nut wouldn’t loosen with an open ended spanner without rounding and couldn’t get a ring on
