key advice traveller

Postby cococola » Fri Jan 04, 2019 5:52 pm

I didnt have a key for the boot on my Traveller when I purchased it and wonder if anybody can advise where to buy one from please. I have removed the door handle today and have 3 numbers on it so Im not sure if there are letters that should be before the 3 didgets.
many thanks
Alan

Ive looked on the ESM website and they list lots of precut keys, I have searched my key number on there and I can only find a FS key that matches my key number. Would I be right in thinking that the traveller boot letters would start with FS always please?

If your car was built after about 1963 it will indeed be a key from the FS series. There are plenty of sellers on ebay of such keys very cheaply. It may be that the lock still won't work but it is certainly worth a try. Plenty of lubrication with a thin oil should help. Otherwise it is a complete new locking handle I suppose.
The rear door always used a different key to the ignition.
