Where on earth do people get such complete and utter rubbish from :raz:
They were a mass produced car made in HUGE numbers.

A lot of the sellers on eBay with cars that defy their real identity get very shirty when 'advised' - like the recent one selling a 59 split screen with 'original' 1098cc motor. He claimed if was a special car built for the disabled...

Haha, you are right. There is a green Traveller on ebay currently for £18,000(!) described as a 1961 "rebuilt to the original spec" but which displays almost every detail of a late 1964-on model except for the front seats, steering wheel and gleaming new chassis plate. It is ebay no: 253864390277.
Buyer beware ;)

I wonder when almond green exterior and OEW engine bay was ever "original spec"

It's a right mix-up isn't it! Not much "original spec" about it and certainly not much dating from 1961!

Number plate transfer probably led to the current number of mongrels with changed identities. I've nothing against modding and would probably sell a plate to fund a restoration. However lying to potential car buyers is fraud.
