Common Lane/Adderley Park Minor LCVs

Back again.
As many of you will be aware, for the best part of 15yrs - tbh feels more like 150 - we have been trying our utmost to compose a detailed/accurate book covering LCVs & AP assembled Traveller's.
We've managed to accumulate 65k chassis/registration numbers - so too approx CKD total production - however, we're lacking cab & engine numbers for Hm.Mkt/Export examples.

This is an uphill struggle, Info gleaned from Parts Books is scant, and the Glasses' Guide is unreliable, and ONLY covers civilian LCV production, therefore, as you can appreciate, we're faced with a gap of 10 years.

As it stands, 600 voided chassis numbers, but FINDING them is the problem, things like intro of Neiman lock/ign, flat backed B posts known, but change from green to black painted engines a grey area also...

We'd appreciate ANY help/info.

Around late 10/61 to end of UK production in 2/72.

Main objective is to shed some light upon Adderley Park build figures & dates, as time marches on - with vehicles scrapped/cabs swopped & details lost forever - it will become far more difficult to reach any facts.

Therefore, ANY information we receive will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks.

Well I’ve got a Traveller in that time frame. Any way to know if it’s an AP build?

Will it help to PM you the chassis number?

Can you post again please?

I’m travelling and not had an opportunity to check my chassis number yet.

Thanks!

It's M/AW5D1173598

Would that be an Adderley Park vehicle?

Many thanks!

Wouldn’t bore me. I’m a nerd for this stuff.

Good luck and hope you get the data you need.

Ooops...forgot the LCVs assembled at AP from 1959!

It's a sorry state of affairs when a post receives 460 odd views and only ONE person is interested in Adderley Park Minor's.

I don't have the luxury of BMHT records, every reference publication available is,to a degree, wrong, therefore, my SOLE source is information is to record numbers from vehicles, and THIS is like getting blood from a stone!

Not even sure HOW many LCVs were built, quite apart from the 600 blunder, there is a discrepancy during 1965, so it's all very well believing the 501-327369 less 242 saga if ALL the chassis numbers were, in fact, issued.

Rambling on a bit now, but hopefully you all appreciate how difficult & complicated the research I do is, and, by enthusiasts supplying "numbers" & details, it all goes to help our understanding of AP production.
