doris the morris

If you are new to the board or have never made a post before, don't just lurk around, post in here and introduce yourself and your Minor if you have one. It would be great to hear from you.

High time I posted a picture of our new Morris, bought as shown from a chap in Kent who has carried out a full rebuild. She will be used as a regular driver and will also be in the occasional show. First one today at the Fir and feather which proved very popular. Also my first go at posting a photo!

Thanks Panky, it's got just enough little jobs to do to give me some tinker time without any nasty surprises I hope!

That looks very smart. Good luck with it - and check that some rustproofing has been done to protect it through the winter months ;)

Very nice too, and unusual to see one with the correct 'steel silver' grille, nowadays. What year is the car?

I know the later Morris Minor 1000s left the factory with silver wheels, But a silver grille I have never heard of.

Ah, you may be right there - according to this list, Travellers had either Old English White, Snowberry White, Police White or Glacier White grilles:

I'm sure I read in a Minor book that later Travellers had silver grilles to match the dark silver wheels, hence why I did mine in those colours during a recent refurb. Oh well, I like the look, so never mind, eh?

Nice looking car. The only thing I would perhaps add, is some red pinstripes on the bonnet/door flashes, to match the interior.

I need to add some to my 1970 Trafalgar Blue Traveller, which apparently should be Pearl Grey, according to the MMOC list above. I used to have gold ones on it, which I thought suited it better, as they more or less matched the wood colour.
