My Motorcycles

Ok, I'll kick off this section. Here's a few pics of my 2 motorcycles.

1995 (1996 registered) Honda Fireblade RRS urban tiger. This was from the era when Honda were top of their game, and the Fireblade was the hottest ticket around due to a combination of light weight and power.
As you would expect from me, I tweaked it a bit, adding Maxton upgraded suspension, braided brake lines, a race exhaust system, dyno jetting and flowed head with fast road cams. This resulted with a measured 132bhp at rear wheel. Unfortunately, after a few years, the dyno jet kit wore away the emulsion tubes in the carbs resulting in poor running and loss of power. I had to buy another set of carbs and have removed the race system and left the carbs standard which has resulted in a 12 hp drop in power. However, it should last now.
I've owned this bike since 2000 and have done 20,000 miles on it in that time. It's only done 27k now and still looks as good as the day I got it, and is now an appreciating asset.

My second bike is a 2001 Honda X11 which I purchased with less than 5000 miles on the clock in 2005 - retirement present :D .
This bike was Honda's answer to the naked bike craze at the time, but was quite pricey when new and was over 20hp more powerful than it's rivals. It wasn't a great seller, but this has given it cult status later in life. It is essentially a Honda Blackbird without the plastics, but tuned to give more low to midrange power. For a naked bike it will top 160mph and really flies. Again, as you'd expect, I've tweaked this too, adding a full exhaust system and a power commander mapping system. This resulted in a measured 143 rwhp. Current mileage is only 19k, and like my Blade it is in mint condition.
Lately, I've not been so inclined to use my bikes, but I won't sell them as I'd never get as good examples again.

Just found this post.

Very nice, I must admit I think the Blade is one of the best looking bikes of its tiem, and your right it was top dog at the time.
The X11 looks very nice but I've never been a big fan of naked bikes.

I have a Triumph Daytona 600 '04 plate, I've had it a little over a year now, was going for the Sprint ST but saw this that was it, not sorry either, LOVE it.
I did have GSX75F for about 3 years previous and used pretty much throughout the year, for commuting etc., his though is getting better treatment.

I have done bits and pieces on bikes, all servicing work and repairs etc. had to with the Suzi as an off trashed all fairing, lights etc.

Its nice to see fellow bikers here.
Here are a couple of my baby.

I bought the X11 to slow me down, but it's actually quicker than the Blade :o mind you, higher speed cruising is easier on the Blade as naked bikes let you know your going quickly - especially if there is a wind.
I sold a really nicely modified Suzuki Katana 1100 when I bought the Blade, which with hindsight I should have kept.
Incidentally, my forum name derived from the 'plastic orange' blade

just done 1032 miles on the Emerald Isle upon this, my 1200RTP

It's ex Devon and Cornwall police and it's great fun seeing car drivers dart out of your way when they spot you in the rear view.
