Hahaha, cheers Andy must remember to eat the Jaffacake first?  There's plenty of time to get it right. I'll need to find a rolling road and get the engine set up properly!

He did indeed - I was trying to roll up my passenger window at the time - it's a bugger with harnesses on and got caught napping - soon caught him though :D , but that won't last for long once he gets it sorted.

I'm not on Faceache so cant see the vids
But looking at your times Pete your slowest reaction time was the quickest ET. What PSI do you lower your rear tyres too at the strip or don't you bother ?

I don't bother to lower tyre pressure (run at 26psi), but to better my times I have a plan.

1. Drop rear tyre pressures to 20psi
2. Empty my boot
3. Do a burnout before the run
4. Only half fill the tank
5. Hold the box through the gears rather than just letting it shift itself

That lot should get me to 14.5 I hope.

Only way to go faster than this is to upgrade the engine, but my other Minor will be a big step up, so as MUJ is running pretty well, I'll leave as is.

You're minor used to run low 15's at Crail - there's a vid somewhere.

I was told by one of the racers to drop the rears to 17 PSI and don't forget to increase the front PSI for less rolling resistance.
They reckon doing burnouts on street tyres is just a waste of rubber as you don't get better grip, slicks or super sticky drag radials will improve the launch.
The 205's on the back of mine are a bit to narrow for quick 1/4 mile  times and the driver's not to good with a manual box either

Did Dave use 1st off the line or start in 2nd ?

I'll ask him. Dave drove all his Minors pretty hard, so he wouldn't have been holding back. I do know he's had it up to around 140mph.

So that's why it has the 140 MPH speedo fitted

Sure I read that the guy who races a white RV8 mk2 cortina starts off in 2nd,
More traction and 1 less gear change I guess.
