I'd been thinking for some time about the indicators on Horace and whilst I think the ones I fitted in the rear window are pretty visible to all (unlike the visibolts in the bumpers) I thought about getting the stoplights to flash as indicators - same idea as early 60's minors. I know that there is a module available for these models, but I chanced upon an advert for a simpler device that does the same thing. These are only about a tenner (American), but cost me £35 in postage etc.
they are made by a company called Curt - https://www.amazon.com/58240-Non-Powere ... B001EP0GI6
It took a bit of head scratching to work out how to connect it, and after a couple of fails I've got it working as it should. I've linked it into the indicators on rear window so that no one should fail to see me turning. How long the unit lasts though is open to speculation.

Mk 2 Consul replaced an A40 Devon that I totaled in a major fashion and Cortina was a 2000 GXL that my Dad bought new in late 1971. I did a lot of silly things in that as compared to cars of the time it was really quick - certainly faster than any Lotus cortina, Triumph 2.5 PI, and just about the same as a V8 rover auto. It didn't handle very well though - blancmange comes to mind lol
