Project Pick-Up.!!!

Postby Oddjob67 » Tue Jan 01, 2013 9:09 pm

Having read many an interesting article on the rebuilds/Moderate Modifications, thought i'd try give it a go and post some pic's of my 72 Pick Up undergoing it's refurb.

Time will tell how the finished 'Ute' will end up as there's many decisions to be had alaong the way.

We'll for the time being thought I'd share some pic's of how it was when I collected it some 2 years ago. Just shipped it to JLH last month so much progress has been made.

What mods do you intend to do with the ute? I'm planning an extended cab on mine but if you're using Jono yours will be done some time before mine...

Depending on how far you are with yours.? There may stand a chance mine will be completed before your's but then again, you's will cost you somewhat less. If I was hoping to recoup my money I definately wouldn't be going down this route. Still, all for the love of the Minor Pick-Up.!!!

As for Mods, it's a 'Living' project and will be developed along the way. Vehicle will have the Escort rear axle fitted along with Link suspension and Panhard Rod. Front will have JLH's Coil Over Kit. Powertrain will be something in keeping with the era of the vehicle. No Zetec power here.

Other than that, should be fairly standard.!!!!!!

C'mon chaps, aren't you being a little negative with your comments.!!!

Surely you can notice the Cab sited on the NOS Chassis, Escort Axle, Pick-Up Floors, 15" x 8" Minilite wheel and, lets not forget the new Wheel Arch.

Like I commented earlier, PROGRESS.

I spy a notched bulkhead... but we know it's not going to be a zetec... 'old school power' apparently...

If I could get this attaching photos thing sorted, I'd give you all a Photo update.

So, in the meantime you'll have to trust me when I say much bodywork has been completed, although still more to complete, but it now stands on 4 wheels.
