Thanks to Shaun ( Custard ) for confirming my thoughts , picked up a rear anti-roll bar today ( from a modern mini ) and started to put into practice what has been on my mind for a while...
The ends set to 90 degrees, shortened to approx 40" and am in the process of knocking up fittings to attach it to my radius arms..

Just checking the shed for bits of box section and tube...

photos to follow...

John ;)

what is the bar between the tramp bars. Think you will be upgrading the rear dampers soon if you drive enthusiastically :)

Rear anti-roll bar......have cut down my bump stops to give a bit more clearance and am in the process of "knocking up" some longer shackles .

John ;)

From another forum

"Bmcecosse

The answer is to get suspension movement - so don't lower, and do cut the bump stops. Actually - AEON rear stops would be much better but I don't know if anyone makes them for a Minor - Mini ones would be too small. Colin Chapman's theory always was - long travel soft suspension with excellent damping."

...more time on my hands , this time thinking about the fuel gauge , sometimes it sticks , sometimes it doesn't work but what bugged me most of all was it's inaccuracy...
Having enlarged my fuel tank ( 6.5 galls to 8.5 galls ) , and working on my fuel mixture ( last tank gave 37mpg ) , and the recent posting about fuel gauges got me thinking....trawling Fleabay came up trumps , well almost , and after a few hours tinkering came up with a prototype...

Speedometer calibration...
at last success , just returned from Huddersfield auto-jumble ( cold as a witches tit in there...) , with no diversions or two hour waits on the M62 , and can report back , AA route-planner predicts 70.5 miles , odometer registers 69.9 miles , so works out at approx 0.85 percent under-reading , and that's good enough for me...
Speedometer checked against satnav is within 2mph , ditto above.

John ;-)

155R14 80S tyres , 3.77 LSD , Type9 Gearbox ( unknown teeth speedo drive )...1060tpm speedo mechanism. :D

Well, winters approaching , and with the extra load on the alternator the belt has started making itself known , and as I had no automatic tensioner the only option was to tighten it a bit more with the "top-slider"

"I like your Idler pulley solution - I was thinking along those lines but yours is much simpler - very good!
Why have you changed the alternator - and why not use the std belt tensioner? - Can you post a picky of your tensioner?
Cheers
Martin"

So plans are afoot to add a spring to tension the belt , pictures to be posted as and when completed...
