Hi All,
I'm hoping to get a bit of advice about using MGB calipers with Marina discs.
Up till now I have been running standard Marina discs/calipers.
I've read on here about a few people using MGB calipers instead to give a bit more stopping power; so I decided to investigate this.
Before buying any new parts I bought a couple of old MGB calipers for a few quid so that I could do some trial fitting.
When I bolt everything up I find that the MGB pads overhang the edge of the Marina disc by about 2-3 millimetres.
Hopefully you can see this in the first picture.
And in the second picture I have indicated in chalk the area of the pad that overhangs the disc.
I presume this isn't really ideal; however, I have done a few searches on the net and read about people maybe using a grinder to chamfer the material on the pad to remove the overhang.
So, I know that a few other people on the forum are using MGB calipers with Marina discs.
Do yours also align like this? And if so, does this cause any issue?
Or do yours align better?
Hope someone can offer some advice,
Thanks,
Ed
