Welcome to the forum DG.
Unfortunately you have committed a cardinal sin in lifting chunks of text and photos from my website. These are subject to copyright and are only available by request.
I suggest that you remove and re write your restoration section immediately before I get really p'd off and seek legal advice. You have 24 hours to remove this section from your website starting now 23.50pm .
You have been warned

Have just called Dave at DG Services. The company does exist, and the site appears to be legitimate.
I have pointed out the issue I have with their website and the lifting of JLH coprrite material. Dave assures me that he will be contacting the person responsible for the site and will have all JLH content removed.
I will allow until tuesday morning for this change to come into effect and go from there.

Well done Jonathon.

Well I for one am glad that a part of dg Services are Legitimate.

We have another member Registered who may be able to give us some good input with his knowledge-as well as people that want to use his services.

But I have to say it seems strange that you pay out good money ( in these difficult times) for some techy to produce something that can help your livelihood and don't check his  handywork.

Either way welcome to the Forum Dave, despite getting off to an unusual start, wish you well and  hope you enjoy the forum -happy posting with us.

Regards

Cliff

Good luck with it all Jonathon. My thoughts are with you. I hope he does the right thing and gets rid of your stuff. Im doing my website now and I know how long it takes to sit down and write that stuff only to have someone do a copy and paste. They say imitation is flattering, personally it gives me the sh*ts

Jonathon I do hope the copyright issues are sorted satisfactorily, it must have taken quite a lot of time to get your webpages constructed and you have been gracious enough to warn Dave with a time allowance even though you could have taken matters into a more serious mode.

To Dave at D.G Services please note

Further to my telephone request that you remove all JLH sourced content from your website. I see that this information content is still showing.

If this is not removed by midnight tonight I will intsruct my solicitor to forward a 'cease and desist' notice to you, which will outline the copyrite infringement, this is a legally binding notice, which you should take very seriously.
If you need to contact me please use the methods supplied.

I hope for a speedy resolution.

Hopefully he can sort it out without the need for moderating (or solicitors) - that would be a first on here (the moderating, although unfortunately not a first with the solicitors). You know that you have really done something wrong if you get moderated on here!

Doesn't say much about the trader if he hasn't looked at his posts since Sat. If it was me I would at least acknowledge that I was looking into it (for the sake of my business) as it looks like he's not bothered about answering questions about his business. Hopefully it is all a misunderstanding, but I must admit I would not want to take my business to someone who doesn't communicate openly. Shame really.

To be fair, if he does have a business, he will likely be busy.

We don't know the ins and out's but the issue is between JLH and the trader, I don't think we should involve ourselves and the board in it any further.

Could be an honest mistake, and a rip off copy writer is to blame.

Just dont want our board to be regarded as a gossip mill if we dont know the full facts.

JLH sounds like he's got things well in hand (or least his solicitors) - just not sure if we should say any more about it.

Just my piece - not wanting to put any noses out.

:-(
Whether its got tits or tyres, it'll give you trouble.

Hi Jonathon,
Hope you get this sorted out without too much hastle or cost.
I design and install bathrooms for a living and wouldnt dream of
using anything other than my own work to promote my business,
This guy doesn't fill me wiyh much confidence in his ability or sincerity.
Surely in his "35 years experience" he must have took a few pics
like anybody whose proud of their work would !!!!

I'll be watching with great interest.

Still no resolution with 1.5 hours to go. For me its a simple problem of copyright breach which I see no reason to tollerate, be it a genuine mistake or deliberate theft.
The law is quite straightforward and when the 'cease and desist' notice has been given, the offending party is open to substantial penalties, both financial and in the terms of the major search engines taking a dislike to this sort of conduct. ie could lead to the pulling of their website.
I have offered , by 12.00 tonight 36 hours to resolve this issue. To date nothing nor a reply directly from Dave.
So, no more Mr nice guy , after 12.00pm, it will take on a more potent approach through my solicitors.
Sorry to air this publically but a message needs to go out that we do not tollerate this sort of theft of copyright.
A shame to for D.G Services as they could loose face over this, as well as financial penalties.
