Newbie 5 months ago!

If you are new to the board or have never made a post before, don't just lurk around, post in here and introduce yourself and your Minor if you have one. It would be great to hear from you.

Newbie 5 months ago!

Post by Fourtrak »

Hi I first joined 5 months ago but due to loss of wife never got round to saying hello.spent large part of my life in the motor trade, remember when decodes and valve grinding were daily chores! I now own a 1960 Traveller which k intend replacing the wood on this winter. It has a 1098cc lump, disc brakes alternator and electronic ignition. Runs well.thanks for having me and thanks to all contributors from whom I have learnt so much. Oh forgot I live near Faversham in Kent.

Nice looking car.

You don't see too many black traveller's.

Do you know its history, I believe the Navy had black ones.

Very nice looking example. I had one with identical colour scheme, except that it was a 1961 (registration XVE 557), that had been converted to 1098cc and fitted with Wolseley 1500 drums and servo (overly powerful brakes for it, really - they would lock up quite readily, even in the dry, if you weren't careful!)

I'd be interested to hear how your wood replacement goes. I daresay a few pints of your local Shepherd Neame may help ease the process... ;)
