Project Transport from Scotland

Postby MakeMinorv8 » Tue Apr 12, 2016 7:56 pm

Hi All,

Nothing confirmed as yet but I thought it worth the ask.

I'm interested in a project car in Aberdeen.

It would require a large box van with tail-lift or van and trailer to collect and bring down to Hertfordshire.

Do any of our Scottish peeps know anyone who can help?

Thanks for reading.

Sorry, don't know anyone who could do that. Is it the V8 project from Cullen?

It was owned for a while by a guy in the Moray Muscle group - his wife had a Fiat twin cam one. I think he passed away a while back.
If you look back far enough, I'm sure there is a thread about it on here.

Can't help either and I'm in Aberdeen!
The guy that I knew who would have probably helped you out, sold his car recovery business & I can't think of any others up here, that I could recommend.
Do remember the yellow V8, it was in a sorry state last time I saw it & that was at a show!
My mates son is currently completely rebuilding the red minor that the wife of the original owner of yellow one had - small(ish) world!

Hi All and thanks for the comments.

Found the post here;-

The 'issues' he had have put me off a little, it's a shame the pictures have expired, would have been interesting to see.
I'm not that computer savvy, but Is there any way they can be re-freshed?

As Jim said, it wasn't the best looking of cars. You'd have had less work buying astral traveller from me :D - unless of course it's moved on from when I last saw it in bits.

It hasn't moved (on) for the passed 10 years or so, from the sound of it..............it is still in the same condition!

I just liked the colour for some reason.....

Perhaps not for me.

It really would take a lot of work I'm afraid - not a quick weekend project anyway.

Yeh, I expected a fair bit of work......................BUT.................and I've already got one project just started.

I guess it's lucky I mentioned it on here before committing.

Thanks all!

Sorry to hear that Neil. I had no success selling Astral Traveller (nationally) earlier this year, so it seems that abandoned projects in Scotland seem to remain just that
I handed it over to my brother, but I think I may be getting it back.

Hope you have better success.

Hi Neil and P O,

I'm sad to see this still for sale.

I would (still) be keen to take it on or store it until later BUT my landlord is messing me about with building works meaning access to my workshop/storage is difficult/impossible at times AND there is a possible job re-location on-the-cards too.
As a result 'Bumble' hasn't been on the road for nearly 2 years and it's new chassis is sat there 'on hold' through no fault of my own.

If I could find a way, I would.
