Eye Test

Post by Panky »

About ten years ago I went for my first eye test. The very nice young lady asked me to look into a machine and say what I could see. "People locked up, pubs and shops closed, face masks everywhere and Donald Trump sulking for some reason" I was very confused.

"It's OK" the young lady said you don't need glasses, you've got 20/20 vision.

In my teens I read A Clockwork Orange - envisages a bleak future where teenagers all use recreational drugs, have their own language, rule the streets at night, old people don't go out and teens commit crimes of extreme violence for fun. Now uncannily accurate.

I thought this was going to be a reference to Mr. Cummings' stint around Barnard Castle at first!

The only thing better than 20/20 vision is hindsight..
