Morris dealer clock

Postby Ian McDougall » Mon Jan 29, 2018 8:28 pm

Hi all
The subject line is a bit cheeky as the clock i have is an Austin one but i want to reproduce a Morris dealer clock on the same lines .I want to know if anyone has a Morris clock in the same design or has a picture of one i can get ideas for the artwork on it, or an advert i can adapt to the clock. It has a Smith Sectric works on it, I have got an old Smiths wall clock off ebay with similar works that i can use to keep it looking the same will just have to make similar hands

I have a small version of this;

https://www.the-saleroom.com/en-us/auct ... f7018a5c3d

or with retail dealer on.

Could easily see those being the background to a clock.

Sean.

Hi Sean
I have seen both of those but think it could be complicated to reproduce,as i was thinking of using stencils and aerosol spraying through them to build up the artwork.

Finally got a clock done ,there were a few hiccups along the way. i was able to get a smiths electric clock mechanism on ebay (and i got a second one) minute and hour hands missing, second hand missing the pointer, so had to make copies of hands. Made up a clock face with digits and centre piece, in mirror image ,the idea was to get a vinyl sign maker to make a stencil put on reverse of glass circle and pull out sections of stencil, spray colour,pull out more sections ,spray different colour etc, the sign guy said some parts were too small for his cutter to work so stuck vinyl on reverse, pasted paper print out of design on and then cut all lines with a craft knife, a long time consuming job. I am very pleased with the result
