I’d love a van, but I’d never get in it lol.

I'm looking at tidying the back of the van by trimming the walls and arches and putting some sort of headlining in. Does anyone have any ideas about how to fit a headlining in a van back? A van that I looked at before buying mine had a proper headling fitted (wish I'd taken a photo), I'm just not sure how to go about it. :think

My brother had a van that was lined in fur and draylon back in the 70's. I'll dig out some pics if you like - or not lol. I'm sure Andy had the rear of his diesel van lined. You can buy thin material from ebay and glue it to thin ply board screwed to van bodywork. You may even get away with a sheet of ply slightly larger than span of roof that will wedge itself in place - very like the headlining on a lowlight.

Cheers Pete.

I was going to use a sheet of 3.6mm ply on the sides with 4-way stretch carpet glued to it and the wheel arches. I have been doing a lot of head-scratching regarding the headliner, definitely will not be using fur though   I did that to a Ford Escort mk1 in the 80's

Photo borrowed from 'capnblack' post from Jul 15 2010 hope thats OK with you capn

Using above photo can you make or have made a headliner with hoops and drill holes in the side flanges for the hoop location as in car , and glue headliner sides under the lip and rear before putting side panels in

I reckon I could do that. I would have to make the hoops as the car ones would most probably be too short, anyone know what they are usually made from as I have never seen them?
