Well I thought I better drag this from page two!

She has been performing her usual exemplary service, she does burn oil, quite a bit, but oil is almost the same price as petrol so I haven't been too concerned.

I was playing musical cars on Friday in the street when she decided she wanted a lie in which I wasn't too impressed at midday so decided to find out what was wrong.

Eventually got her going but she was running very rough, she was running on three cylinders.
Pulled out the affected spark plug and it was 'Very oily' so I just swapped it for one I had in the Garage and she fired up and ran very well.

It is not her original engine having been changed at some point in first ownership (he did everything to it and kept a book with all the details) but Gwen having done 170,000 miles across two engines I know this is due to be sorted.

I am now on the lookout for a suitable engine to swap into her to keep her going as she is transport and not pampered. I don't want to take her off the road and strip the engine as last time I took her off the road it took a while for me to pull my finger out and get her back on the road as if it can wait, it does :)

If anyone has one 'lying about' I might be interested!

John.

Since Big Al's text message didn't arrive I had to remember all by myself
I phoned the garage at 8:10 this morning and asked when the next available MOT slot was................2 o'clock this afternoon!
A quick once over and off we went.

Another year, another pass  :D

A few little jobs to attend to, check wheel bearings and I have a leak on the rear hub seal on one side but strangely the brakes passed with both side being the same (and working before someone says that)
I wonder if it is a new leak or is there a path for the oil to get out without going through the brake drum?

Happy with the result, just must not wait until the morning of the next MOT to go over things :)
