I think a heritage certificate is the only way to find out production dates.

Re: Matilda

The other day I moved Matilda from Kent to North Yorkshire ready for our house move later this week. I traveled overnight and planned to arrive at a secret location south of Thirst ready for bacon butties at 7.30am.

My last stop was at Wetherby Services. Once I set off we quickly passed junction 47 on the A1(M) which is our normal turnoff for Pateley Bridge. Within yards, Matilda had a hissy fit and stopped!

Now I know I missed going to Pateley this year but how on earth could she know we weren't going..? She managed all but the final 17 miles of the 240 mile trip.

It appears her rota arm failed and churned up the distributor cap. This will be sorted once I get up north and settle in. I did get to have the bacon butties. ;)

:) Matilda knew she was missing out on seeing her friends at Pateley Bridge this year!!

Great you still managed bacon butties and that the problem wasn't a major one. Hope your move goes smoothly.

Sorry for the delayed reply Plin, I'm still busy with settling in at the new place.

I think MickEssex may have given the game away about poor old Alfie. You may recall he lost his garage nearly 2 years ago when it was needed for a new build. I couldn't hold onto the garage and object to the build so Alfie ended up on my drive. After 2 years it became obvious I wasn't going to get him a new home or finish him so I let him go. :(

I have kept a lot of spares I amassed for him and once I sort out what is needed for Matilda I may have a jumble sale at Pateley Bridge. Now Matilda lives in a garage I don't have the room to keep it all anyway.

A very sad day. I have no idea what has become of him, I guess I sooner not know.

After 4 years of fighting the owners of the garages, it changed hands 3 times, they won their appeals and by the time I left Orpington the mini new builds were on their way to be built. I have no regret about leaving the area.

:| I guessed Alfie may have found a new home!

Shame about the planning consent palaver but pennies mean more than local support. Hope you are soon settled in and Matilda has a few adventures before the gloomier weather sets in!
