Brake advise?

Postby wren1710 » Sun Feb 04, 2018 6:30 pm

I have just found a problem with my passenger front brake, the cylinders are leaking so I need knew one's, question:

Pattern or lockheed? I've heard people talk about pattern ones on the front not being very good.

Do I need new shoes? as the fluid has got onto the shoes and the drum, Can I clean them down with petrol or do I need new ones?

Also, I need two LEFT hand ones don't I, not one left and one right? (probably a stupid question but...)

For the difference in cost, I would go for OEM cylinders. I would also recommend using red rubber grease upon first assembly.
Yes you will need new shoes if they are contaminated with brake fluid, replace both sides. The listing for the shoes and cylinders are here, ... minor.html

It is the way the tapered bit goes that is different.
