Brake advise?

Postby wren1710 » Sun Feb 04, 2018 6:30 pm

I have just found a problem with my passenger front brake, the cylinders are leaking so I need knew one's, question:

Pattern or lockheed? I've heard people talk about pattern ones on the front not being very good.

Do I need new shoes? as the fluid has got onto the shoes and the drum, Can I clean them down with petrol or do I need new ones?

Also, I need two LEFT hand ones don't I, not one left and one right? (probably a stupid question but...)

For the difference in cost, I would go for OEM cylinders. I would also recommend using red rubber grease upon first assembly. http://www.redrubbergrease.com/
Yes you will need new shoes if they are contaminated with brake fluid, replace both sides. The listing for the shoes and cylinders are here, https://www.moss-europe.co.uk/shop-by-m ... minor.html

Yes you do need two left ones.

It is the way the tapered bit goes that is different.
