The handbrake knob malarkey

Postby Lurch » Sun Dec 04, 2016 2:51 pm

Re the classic knob flying off business, just had this on my 65 motor and discovered the plastic knob simply pushes on, held ,or not , by friction, how crappy is that.
My traveller is a 61 and has a sensible screwed on knob in chromed metal.
I wonder which genius thought a push on plastic knob against spring tension was a good idea.
I assume the way ahead is to source a slightly earlier handbrake lever mechanism and fit that instead, ...anyone flogging one ?
