Useful info John.

I must admit I hadn't seen it written down that the air valve should be below the centre line.

I knew they should be nose up. They are a pain to bleed if they are not.

I think I just saw the picture similar to the page in your photo and presumed the valve went on top.

I haven't fitted one to the current car so if it gets fitted I will rotate it to be below the centre line.

I believe it's like that to allow air to be bled from the air valve piston.

I believe the angle is only to do with bleeding.

I remember my dad unbolting a servo to bleed it (flex hoses) then putting it back when done.
