Remote servo

Post by MogDJ »

Hi guys,
I fitted a remote servo to the braking system of my pick up during its rebuild when I also fitted the “grumpy” disc conversion on it, and to be honest, I’m not sure if it is working as the brake pedal still feels like a standard one would. The pick up stops fine, and all the brake components were either replaced and the master cylinder overhauled.
Any tips on how I can test this or any idea what could be the issue.
I’ve tried the recommended check of pressing the brake pedal then start the engine, when the pedal should drop slightly, but nothing happened!
Any help would be gratefully received.

You have tested it and its not working.

Is it new or a secondhand one that has been stood unused for a while?

I would recheck the vacuum hose to the engine first, for sucking in air and/or collapsing.

I am assuming you are using the proper thick walled vacuum hose, heater hose or similar isn't suitable.

Also if there is a one way valve in the hose is it the correct way round and/or not stuck?
