I've bought new springs from ESM and will be changing them soon. I got the Lowering kit with poly bushes including shackle bushes too. Question is.
None of the bushes have a centre spacer.
Is this normal?
Thanks

Re: Polybush leaf springs
Yes it is normal.
If you swap the ones on the torsion bar eye bolt and the kingpin they are the same.
I thought it odd at first as I had the centre tube on the Locost Kit Car, but the design of the bolts with steps means the bush will never be crushed to the point of cutting the lip off.
Everywhere I have had a bush with a tube in it has been to prevent that crushing.
A bit of white grease helps fitting too!.
Sean.

Re: Polybush leaf springs
The Austin J4 suspension bush is ideal for the front eye of the Minor spring. You just have to trim it so that it is slightly longer than the shaft of the pin so as to ensure that it is nipped tight. A well known mod before the advent of poly bushes.
It has the centre tube so cannot be crushed.

Here is a pair I did for my Minor. They can be fitted to the rear spring/chassis eyes as well. Also the front suspension eye bolt. They are near enough fit and forget.

Thanks for this Phil. It looks like I'll be renewing the front eye bolts so I'll fit these when the time comes.
