Google search engine listings.

Post by MickEssex »

Hi all,

It was brought to my attention recently that the MMO forum was not coming up in Google search results.

After some digging it appears to have started when the forum was upgraded last year although I'm not sure why Google stopped indexing the forum as all the necessary files were on the server and updated at the time.

I have deleted the existing site map and created a new file and resubmitted to Google, it appears that the forum has started to be indexed again this morning but it could be days or weeks before the entire site has been indexed.

Hopefully all will be back to how it should be very soon.

Onward and upwards!

If anyone did a Google search for anything Minor related our site wouldn't show up in the results.

Once Google has indexed our site, then it will.

:| Doing a Google search box for 'morrisminorowners' only brings up various MMOC pages, even doing 'www.morrisminorowners.co.uk' in a Google search box still shows just MMOC pages. Hadn't noticed it until you mentioned it, :) thanks for trying to get it corrected. Hope it is sorted soon as it's a shame that our valuable information (and indeed helpful site) is not showing up.

It can take time for the site to be indexed, we'll just have to be patient.

Ironic as I hadn't logged on for over a day and had just been trying to search on my phone.

I rarely use the forum on the phone so hadn't done since I got my new one over a year ago, but wanted to to get a link for my daughter.

It did finally work by putting the whole address in the top line for the website rather than the search box.

Cant beat the right tool for the job, phones for messages PC for the internet :D

Sean.
