Stupid question of the week!

Postby Andy W » Mon Dec 18, 2017 10:49 am

Here it is....

Alternator conversion so want to remove regulator control box....I will earth the "E" wires to the bulkhead.

With the "A" & 'A1" wires....do i need to join the two "A' wires together & like wise the "A1" wires OR link all four together?

(Told you it was a stupid question! :oops: )

There are no stupid questions, always best to ask rather than risk doing some damage.

Join all four together.

The Lucas Diagram;

viewtopic.php?f=20&t=746&start=15

2nd page part way down.

Shows a single A and A1, but if you have two on each just join them all together.

The way the spades are on the regulator the two A's were effectively joined as were the two A1's.

Make sure the join is sound as there can be quite a high current and a bad join will get warm as well as losing power.

If you have any suitable thick copper or brass you could make a small plate with four spades on it and use that as a joiner , but make sure it is well wrapped up and insulated from the body.
