installing wheelbox rubbers

Postby dudload » Fri Dec 09, 2016 4:53 pm

evening all,

one job that's been on my list for a while is putting new rubbers on the wiper wheelboxes. from the photo below, some previous owner (promise not me!!) has properly chewed up the thread on the wheelbox which is problem number one, but i was also wondering what the best way to remove them, stick new rubbers (and potentially a new wheelbox) in and touch the paint up a bit?

can't seem to find anything in the manual on this and wary of disconnecting the cable without knowing what i'm doing first!

The wheelboxes are held on by either four nuts and bolts or just 2 can't remember which and should be accessible through the glovebox.
You should not have to take the cable out to fit a new one.
The rubbers just fit over the spindle as you push it through from underneath.
Hope this helps.
