Indicator warning light(s).

Postby midget » Mon Dec 31, 2018 3:31 pm

In order to fill a couple of spare holes in my dash I want to fill them with warning lights from the flasher unit so that they operate side for side.
Is this possible with the standard can, or should I use a Marina unit? I do not need the stalk flasher.
A diagram would be most useful please.

Don’t have a diagram,
But should be easy enough..
Find the wires that supply the front indicators,
follow them back as close to the bulkhead as possible.
Splice in to them one at a time and take the added cable through the bulk head.
Connect these to the warning lights, then earth the other side ..

Hope this helps..

Ok, thanks. That is simple enough, I thought it would need a relay to operate the extra lamps?
Will LED warning bulbs operate along side the standard bulb? Sorry, electrics not my strong point--especially "modern" stuff

I fitted a Mini speedo with the indicator repeater and used LEDs in everything except the ignition light. Works fine and is probably better as LEDs don't draw as much current as a normal bulb so will have less effect on the flasher unit.

That's great, thanks for confirmation. I do have a Marina stalk set up to fit at sometime.
Will this physically fit the Minor column without modification? I cannot access this at the moment, but need to be aware of mods that need to be made?
The indicator self cancelling system is different to Minor, but is this compatible with Minor column?
Also, will the plastic cover(binnacle) fit?
