LCV Specifications plate

Postby MogDJ » Mon Oct 15, 2018 8:46 pm

Hi guys,
Another plea for some help and advice.
I have purchased a vehicle specification plate for my Pick Up, which was mounted on the passenger door inside the cab, but I’m unsure of what info I need stamping in the blank boxes.
If anyone could shed some light on these, and help me fill any of the blanks, I would be very grateful.

The boxes are labelled -

Type/Spec’n
Engine Type
Chassis ( I presume this would be the vin number?)
Manufactured ( the year my vehicle was made?)
GTW in TONS.
Type Approval No.

Thanks very much.

type /spec = LCV
engine = no, or see engine as a normal plate states,
Chassis = vin
Manufacture = year
GTW = 1/4 or 0.25
type approval = NA

does it not have axle weights,

Hi Woody,
Yes it does to be honest, but I was a bit confused with what was required.
The plate has a couple of boxes for axles,labelled Front Axles - 1st 0.55 tons -2nd (blank) tons, similar for the rear axle with 0.73 in the first box.
If you have any info about these boxes that would be great.

Many thanks for the info you’ve given me, really appreciate your help.
Cheers
Dave.

they are the maximum weights you can put on each axle,
added together gives your GVW = gross weight =1.28t

example put 2 bags of cement = gvw 3 means overwieght :lol:

not that the ministry is likely to stop you unless you look low at the back or lopsided, :lol:
