Tyres how old is to old

The front tyres on my Traveller are date stamped 2016 .The rest are 2006.Are they needing changed because of age .They look okay with no cracks or signs of wear .

You have to make a judgement based on what the vehicle has done and what you are going to do with it.

Given that they look good after 12 years I presume it is a low usage vehicle.

If it has been stood for a few years then they could start cracking once you start using it and in my experience they seem to go hard and not have as much grip even though they have not worn or show cracks.

If you are going to do a couple of hundred miles a year to local shows at 30mph in summer it will be different to using as a daily driver in all weathers and at 70 on motorways.

Even the smallest bump will cost more than price of 4 tyres.
