Could anyone tell me why there is 145 x14 on the front, and 155 x 14 tyres on the rear of my '68 Morris Minor. I this necessary. I would prefer 155 all round. Thanks Dave.

Iv been advised from on here to get 155. I got 5 on ebay for £145 bargain, they're nankangs aswell.
Maybe only 2 tyres where needed before and they went with the easier option.

Either size will be OK on your Minor but best to have all the same size of course! As Woody says, the larger 155 size is less expensive so they are the choice of many. The Nankang 155/80/14 suits the Minor well and is a good buy at present. Shop around and they can be bought very cheaply.

The 145 tyre is the correct size for a standard wheel - the 155 are perfect if you have a set of the wider 'van' wheels.

145/14 was the factory recommendation for radial ply tyres on the Minor but a great many owners choose to fit 155 section instead and have done for the last 40years to my knowledge. Has ANYONE on the forum experienced any problem from doing so?? I certainly haven't myself.
