Whine..!

Post by Andy W »

I love my 3.9 Midget diff. but it's really rather whiney - much like myself according to the wife!

The car drives great & I only notice the whine when at steady throttle with little or no load on.

Have tried a tube of Moly which did nothing.

Any ideas folks?

Cheers.

My 3.7 is super quiet so I guess yours is in need of a re-build :(

Oh dear, I suspected as much!...that will have to wait until the budget allows & hope it doesn't let me down in the meantime...I have a 700 mile round trip in the Traveller next week..!

They usually last for ages having a good old whine but the sooner you do it the less damage there will be.

The only place I've heard of who specialise (I'm sure there are others) in Austin Morris transmissions, and I've not used them, are Heathrow Transmissions. But I'm sure with a bit of research you could find someone nearer to home.
