Hi guysm, pls share your experience... Im looking at this in esm..

FUEL pipe : copper nickel or copper

Brake pipe : copper nickel or copper

Servo. : lockheed or powertune ??

Copper nickel is tougher and has a higher burst pressure, but it’s harder to form and flare. Copper is fine, unless you are doing a race car.

I have a Lockheed servo and very happy with it. Have not used powertune.

Mine is;

Fuel Copper - because that's what I could get made up at the time.

Brakes Copper Nickel - because I can flare them myself. Not many cars use the double flare nowadays and I have seen people with the tool and not know how to use that bit.

Servo Lockheed - Always have so used a known product and you could get replacement diaphragm for them if needed.

Pure Copper does work harden but the fuel lines are clipped up well whereas bits of the brake pipe aren't that well supported.

We always used Kunifer 10 in the garage I worked in at weekends.

It was a brand but Cunifer10 Comes from the Cu Copper and NI Fer for the 10% Nickel iron which helps it resist stress fractures and corrosion.

Important if you live in Blackpool or drive on salted roads.

Powertune .. heard lots of bad stories.... "cheap far-east copies" ?

Thanks for some good info. One more question, where is best place to fix the brake servo. (Lockheed)
Left or right of engine.. pls advice

More a matter of space, but I guess too much heat is also not good.

I have seen pictures of some on the Right Hand Side (as viewed from the front) very forward so as the heat goes backwards heat shouldn't be a massive issue in an A series car.

It is marginally easier plumbing it in if its on the same side as the Master Cylinder. Master cylinder forward to the servo, off the servo to a T one side of which goes back to the rear and the other to the front T and Brake switch as normal.

So on a left hand drive car it is probably easier to have it on the exhaust side.

If the plumbing gets too convoluted it can lead to difficulties bleeding it all later. That's why wherever it is mounted it should be slightly nose up.

I was thinking on LEFT side at first, but there is coil, oil filter, distribution and horn, plus washer kit as well. Tooo many things at one side, while RIGHT is empty.
Then i thought having it on RIGHT (forward as much)
My plan is to get kunifer 10 at least it protect against the heat.
ESM brake servo kit supplies pipe to RIGHT side.
