block drain tap

Postby Ian McDougall » Mon Oct 30, 2017 8:39 pm

Hi all
Have flushed block, heater rad and pipework, but when i tried to open drain on block nothing came out, took drain tap off all free but there was no water from block poked around with wire but no clearance. Now to question does anyone know how the passage ways in the block go so i can clear the blockage, up, down, sideways, straight through, small hole, large hole,??
Thanks in anticipation

Sediment does collect back there. Get more aggressive with your poking. There is just a big cavity around the cylinders with the drain in the back.

Connect system back together and mix up a dishwasher tablet in a little boiling water and add to the system allowing car to get really warm.
Drain and flush several times both ways.
See if that helps. :)

Best to drop the bottom rad hose off rather than try to drain the system through the drain tap, that way you will dump more silt disturbed by the flush from the block and rad
