Marina cylinder head torque sequence

Postby thomsen » Fri Aug 25, 2017 6:01 am

Doring a overhaul, I have changed the head gasket on my 1275 Marina engine.

But I wanted to know, if anyone can supply me with the correct tightening torque and sequence for the cylinder head?

Best regards

I normally do

6 2 3 7
9 5 1 4 8

I do all to 30 ft/lb, then 40, then 50. Warm engine, then retighten. Check again after a few days driving.

Spiral out from the middle is a general rule for any head. A bit like putting on a sticker where you work out the bubbles from the middle. I guess any similar sequence would work.

Don't forget to clean the block and head surfaces. I use an old credit card. Don't use sandpaper or anything metal.
