Minormadman

Postby chesney » Wed May 15, 2019 9:24 pm

I am writing to inform that unfortunately, Cliff (Minormadman) has passed away this week.

It has come as a shock (as these things usually are), but my thoughts and condolences (as I'm sure everyone here who had the pleasure of knowing him, and many more besides) are with his family and friends at this time.

Cliff was a great asset to the MMO, one of the most frequent visitors and posters of this group, a friendly face to everyone, always a helping hand. He will be missed.

I have asked permission from Cliff's family to share this news, I know many board members knew Cliff well.

Thank you Jack for letting us know. He will be sorely missed by his family, friends and the MMO community.

Very sad news for us all.

This is very sad news, thank you Jack for letting us know. Cliff was a very prominent member of the MMO as well as being a moderator. He was always a very active member and was always there offering his help where he could, even when he wasn't that well. Our thoughts are with his wife Lynne and his family at this very sad time.
RIP Cliff

The world will indeed be poorer without Cliff. What sad news. He would always do anything he could to help his fellow enthusiasts and never sought reward. He will be much missed.
Condolences to his family and friends at this difficult time.

Very sad news, Cliff was one of life's gentlemen and will be sorely missed by all. He was a great asset to this forum and always ready to offer advice and assistance. My thoughts are with those he left behind, but always remember the good times.

I have thought about this. Our MMO Annual Award or the shilling plate as it is otherwise known, was created by Cliff himself so I think it fitting to rename it the Cliff Lloyd Award or the Minormadman Award.

Seconded, for what it's worth, that's an excellent idea.

So sorry to hear about Cliff. I never met him in person sadly but always enjoyed the banter he had with other members and knowledge and advise he gave freely. I suspect he was the same in the real world with those who knew him personally and he will be greatly missed by friends virtual and real.
Re-naming the trophy is a great idea, a fitting tribute and one that will keep his memory alive for those who knew him and for those who will know of him in the future.

Well this is very sad news indeed. He will be sorely missed by many and was as you have already said a gentleman and a very enthusiastic and helpful forum member.

Thanks for letting us know Chesney. I know he was a great part of your Minor life. Please do pass my sympathies to Lynne and the family too.

Hello Everyone

I have just been told of the very sad passing of Cliff.

I had the pleasure of meeting Cliff and his wife when we were there in 2013. We went out for dinner and he invited us back to his home.

As has been said before, Cliff was a lovely guy and it saddens me to hear of his passing

RIP Cliff
