Thanks for that. I'm not a fabricator but I do some fabrication at work. I'm not afraid of a bit of fabrication, and it's going to happen with any swap. Only thing, if I end up doing all this work for a modern engine and I have fuel pump issues I will cry. Went from electric to mechanical to solve i...

Re: Engine bay dimensions?

18" seems quite short, from my memory of working in it, it should be closer to 30". I guestimate the RB to be about 28" long (85-90mm per cyl + cam belt & ancillaries).

Hi Dunk, Happy new year to you too. I think of straight sixes, mostly of a virtually stock RB20DERT... The idea started with my ex brother in law and his R32 with a tuned RB20DET (300hp last I heard), and I said I would be faster in my lighter car with a stock RB20. It was all a joke at the time, bu...

Engine bay dimensions?

I'm toying with ideas for a future swap on my 53 2dr, and I'm wondering how long the bay is between the radiator and the crossmember under the battery. My car is in storage because I'm overseas at the moment so I cannot measure it myself. Curious to see if my ideas could fit the hole without falling...

Re: LED lights. Interest?

Hi there, I have some news about this. I've had a test pair made and sent for review, and it came back positive. I will have two sets available shortly, pending on parts making it to me, mainly lenses. These will also fit other models, MGA, Sprite, TR1/TR3 and MK1 Jaguars, but I offer to you first. ...

Re: LED lights. Interest?

Hello, Good Day, Good Evening. This project is not dead, I do apologize for the long silence, I started a new job and got a kidney stone in the meantime. I have had a pair of the final base plates made after my last post, and I tested them for UV and weather resistance to ensure I can deliver a good...

Re: LED lights. Interest?

Ok, we finally have a clear and sunny sky today, so I went out and connected my Moggie light in lieu of the right light on the car. Follow the link below to check it out for yourself, but I must appologise for the quality and warn once again that the video does not do justice. In all, I am quite hap...

Re: LED lights. Interest?

Hi D. I have tried something similar before, my first attempt in fact. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QkQVj0Uxurc They were high power LEDs called Eagle Eye I believe. A week later, you could barely see them when on, thanks Chinese standards. That's what led to a quest for quality and the first PC...

Re: LED lights. Interest?

Tiny update, the PCBs are made and in the mail to me. I'm waiting on thermal paste too, for the heat sinks. Hopefully both will be here before the weekend.

I'll post more soon.

Re: LED lights. Interest?

I had noticed a small change when I received the lenses. They seem to have "fixed" the thickness issue, the lens itself is now a solid red throughout. When I received the LEDs, I did a preliminary test, holding LEDs and connecting them by hand. The reverse light is not shining through white like it ...

Re: LED lights. Interest?

The LEDs were supposed to ship from the US, but turns out they had to come from China. They should show next week apparently. I made a last minute tweak before ordering the PCBs, I made holes in them to fit separators, in case different lights blend too much together. That should be here within 2 we...

Like I said, they will be separated. Also, the stop light and indicators will be separated, more traditional than the ones in the video. The lens is thicker on the top half, so that's where the stop light and tail will be. The lower, thinner half will let the amber and white light come through more ...

LED lights. Interest?

Hi fellas, I know I haven't been very active on here, life got in the way, but I did get my Minor running for a month before I had to store it and fly out of Australia.. You may have seen I posted about the LED lights I designed and built for it ( https://www.morrisminorowners.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=...
