From days gone by...

There's a wealth of images of Morris Minors on the internet from days gone by. Post what you find here but do say where you found them.

This one is from the history page of the Caravan & Motorhome Club.

Re: Matilda

Just 5 years before Matilda was made my home town had a festival. In 1965 I was just 6 years old and I can't remember all the goings-on but I found this 30-minute colour film of the event. All the location shots are of my hometown as I remember it, the shops, churches, schools and roads. I'm amazed ...

Re: Matilda

I really like that. I replaced mine to get a more comfy one not a smaller one. Your way is a lot more in keeping with the car. It will also make a big difference if you ever drive with gloves on a cold morning. Now if you just cover the metal at the tops of the doors with what is left to make it co...

Re: Matilda

Matilda's fairy godfather made her a special steering wheel so that I could drive her without my hands seizing up on long journies (remember those..?) It's taken a while to get things sorted but over the last 2 days I got my act together and it is now in place. The rim of the steering wheel was made...

Re: The 8th MMO National Gathering - August 2021

The provisional date for the 8th MMO National Gathering (incorporating the 4th Rocker Cover Derby) is on Sunday 8th August 2021. Full details about the weekend, ie camping, will be announced when all is confirmed. At this stage, I have no details if a full weekend is planned.

Re: The 8th MMO National Gathering **Discussion**

This was sent out by George, the current chair of the Harrogate MG Club. The full reasons behind cancelling the show. Social distancing, There is unlikely to be any lifting of lockdown in the foreseeable future. Many of our members are in the vulnerable age group.  Many shows after ours have been ca...

Re: The 8th MMO National Gathering **Discussion**

I'm sorry to announce the MG committee has decided to cancel this year's show. Hopefully we will be able to be in a better position to hold it next year. It is important we don't let our guard down with this virus and this cancellation is just a small price to pay to beat it. Stay safe everyone. Sen...

Re: Which polish?

The question should be what paint do you need after you have polished the paint off again..! [emoji1787]

Re: The 8th MMO National Gathering **Discussion**

I had another email from Roger today. We were moved to the second weekend in August because of a big 1940s bash in town. That has been cancelled... In view of that I think the MG committee will be contacting the good people of Pateley Bridge sooner than later to see if the MG show will be welcomed o...

Re: The 8th MMO National Gathering **Discussion**

I have been in contact with Roger (last year's MG chairman and our friendly campsite host) and he says the new chairman, George, and the committee will be making a decision about Pateley sometime in May. Naturally, we are in the hands of the gods and even if the lockdown is lifted by August the show...

Re: Photography

:D What a lovely idea to provide a picnic table for your garden friends! Great photos as always - how far away are you when you take them? Thanks Plin. Both were taken from my decking some 50' away. I placed the table on top of an arbour halfway down the garden but with a raised deck I'm nearly lev...

Re: Photography

Lockdown entertainment. I made this picnic table yesterday to teach critters some table manners. The squirrel started to use the seat but forgot himself whilst the robin needs to leave some grub for the others ...
